'22, A Million' is part love letter, part final resting place of two decades of searching for self-understanding like a religion. And the inner-resolution of maybe never finding that understanding. The album’s 10 poly-fi recordings are a collection of sacred moments, love’s torment and salvation, contexts of intense memories, signs that you can pin meaning onto or disregard as coincidence. If Bon Iver, Bon Iver built a habitat rooted in physical spaces, then '22, A Million' is the letting go of that attachment to a place.

Brand new Astronautalis (Charles Andrew Bothwell) "Sike!" EP out today on SideOneDummy Records, who will be dropping the new full-length Astronautalis LP later this year. The EP features the Adam Pickrell (of St. Vincent) produced title track “Sike!” – with Reggie Pace (of Bon Iver) on the horns, as well as another new track + three remixes.
"SIKE!" video directed by Isaac Gale and featuring guest appearances from P.O.S. and Sims of Doomtree.
We released that insane video to announce the release of "The SIKE! EP"! A nice little collection of tunes that i am really proud of, but for one reason or another, couldn't quite make fit on the album itself. Starts out with "SIKE!", then moved into Lazerbeak produced "Papillion", followed by "Interbellum" (thanks to Animal Collective for letting Amati & ICETEP sample them for that beat!), and closing out with one of my personal favorite tracks from the album sessions (still bummed i couldn't find a place for it on the record), the southern marching band ode to catharsis made by me and the don B.J. Burton, "You Know What It Is!". Tie the whole thing together with three remixes of "SIKE!" done by three of my favorite producers out there: Subp Yao, GodDamnChan, and Bird Peterson. HEAT!!!
