Montreal’s Elephant Stone was formed in 2009 by sitarist/bassist Rishi Dhir. As one of the most highly sought out sitar players in the international psych scene, he has recorded, performed and toured with Beck, the Black Angels, Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Horrors, and many more.

Happy New Year! 2013 was an amazing year for discovering new music. I'm in a band myself, but spend lots of time scanning the music world for new and promising artists. I gathered my favorite of these "artists on the rise" and curated a digital "mixtape" for you to hopefully enjoy as much as I have. Noisetrade has been gracious to assist me in getting the mix to you, and i'm excited to give any TIPS to Blood:Water Mission, my favorite non-profit that brings clean water solutions and HIV/AIDS care and support to communities in Africa.
